Psilocybe Azurescens – Description

Pileas: The cap (pileus) of Psilocybe azurescens is 3-10 cm (1.2-3.9 in) in broadness, conic to raised, developing to extensively bended and at last fixing with age with a verbalized, steady wide umbo; surface smooth, gooey when saturated, covered by a separable thick pellicle; chestnut to ochraceous brown to caramel in assortment, much of the time becoming emptied with dull blue or rather blue dim zones, hygrophanous, obscuring to light straw assortment in drying, solidly expanding blue when hurt; edge even, at times erratic and crumbled at improvement, hardly incurved all along, soon decurved, evening out with advancement, clear striate and habitually leaving a fibrillose annular zone in the upper districts of the stipe.
Gills: The lamellae are rising, sinuate to adnate, brown, habitually stained into dull where hurt, close, with two degrees of lamellulae, mottled, edges whitish.
Spore Print: The spore print is a dull purplish brown to purplish dim in mass.
Stipe: The stipe is 9-20 cm (3.5-7.9 in) long and 3-6 mm (0.1-0.2 in) thick, rich white, soiled brown from the base or in age, void at improvement, and made from bended, cartilaginous tissue. The underpinning of the stipe thickens downwards, is habitually twisted, and is portrayed by coarse white ethereal tufts of mycelium, every now and again with purplish blue tones. The mycelium including the stipe base is thickly rhizomorphic (i.e., root-like), smooth white, continually holding the wood-chips together.
Taste: extremely serious
Smell: unscented to farinaceous
